Also – new to the market – our medium organic salsa. Same recipe as our mild salsa, just with more jalapenos and seeds. Sold in 16 oz or 31 oz jars.

Finally, we have our most popular scones available in 3-packs this week – lemon blueberry. Always organic, super moist & dairy free, popping with bright, summery citrus flavors and sweet blueberries. Try some today – I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Foster Bakery: New to our Market, highly recommended by NashPhilly.
Do you like bread? We now have Plain White or Wheat Bread.

Enjoy this staple guilt-free by buying a plain white or whole wheat loaf from me. Unlike many commercial bakeries that use bromated/carcinogenic ingredients, I use simple and minimally processed ingredients to make a delicious and filling bread. Bread made from whole wheat flour contains greater amounts of protein, fiber, and vitamins. 2-3 slices meets 15% of your daily iron needs and over a quarter of the recommended fiber intake. Whole wheat bread is also a great food to aid weight loss (ask me: I lost 20 pounds after I started making this bread)! This loaf makes approximately 10-12 slices + 2 endpieces. Slice as you go for best quality (unless if you plan to freeze it). Since my bread doesn’t contain any preservatives, it’s best to consume or freeze within 3-4 days of picking up. The bags are freezer friendly.

NashPhilly: Several prepared items in the Soup, Seasonal Side Dishes and Noodles, Pasta, Italian Sauces Category. Perfect for your upcoming Mother’s Day meal or this weeks meals.

Also enjoy our newly ‘salads’ during the hot summer months along with our meals and side dishes.

Pinky’s Micro’s:
New Spring blend of power packed microgreens…Romaine, Golden Leeks, Lemon Basil and Red Panda Sorrell.
Also check out our other Micro’s – Basic Salad Mix, Broccoli, Cilantro, Pea, Radish, Red Amaranth, Sunflower and Wheat Grass Shots.

Quarter Spring Farm: has all the affordable luxury that you need this spring. From our moisturizing soaps to our delicious meats and eggs, we have all the goodies to pamper you. You work hard, so treat yourself to an incredible dining experience with our lamb or chicken. It’s healthier and tastier than conventionally grown meats, and better for the planet, too. Our amazing goat milk soaps and lotions will leave your skin feeling like you just dropped 2 grand at a high end spa. You deserve nice things, so let us provide them to you.

Kumaika Coffee:
If you have not started your morning with our Coffee, you are missing out! We have Dark, Medium and Light Roasted Beans. We are a Certified USDA Organic Product provider. We have a small coffee roaster business. We specialize in roasting and crafting small batches of organic, high altitude single origin and fair trade coffee beans. We bring the coffee beans directly from Nicaragua and roast small batches in our home located in Lascassas TN. We have Beans and/or Ground Coffee available or can’t decide order our Sampler of all 3.

Dogwood Valley Greenhouse: Several items ready to plant in cooler weather. Herbs, Ferns, Hosta and Shrubs.

Flying S Farms: We’ve added several items of Spring/Summer Produce, along with our delicious Sour Dough Breads, along with delicious Brownies, Biscuits, Various Friendship Breads. Strawberry Jam is back in stock and more jams soon to be on the market again.

Berea Gardens:  Market this wek

Hi All,

The market is a bit limited this week as we transition from our early spring crops to our summer fare. Variety will pick up in the coming weeks with a fresh crop of lettuce, green beans and the early tomatoes are beginning to take shape. The onions are also looking good and and starting to bulb up, our garlic is almost ready. Stop by this week to see what our other vendors have to offer and we hope to see you on Wednesday.

Blessings,
Bob

The Wednesday Market:  Ordering is Open for The Wednesday Market

Good afternoon.

The Wednesday Market is open for orders. Please place your order by 10 p.m. Monday. Orders are ready for pick up between 2 and 4 p.m. Wednesday. Check the website for this week’s product offerings. Here is the link:

Last week one of my co-workers gave me some yellow summer squash from her garden. As we were talking, she pulled out her cell phone and said, “You’re going to think I’m crazy when I share this with you, but I just have to show someone something that made me so happy this morning!” She passed her phone to me, and I saw a close-up picture of a bee curled up asleep in the petals of a hydrangea blossom. My friend said she purposely chooses plants to attract butterflies and bees, so she was touched to see the scene of a sweet little bee taking a nap in her flowers. I said, “Friend, I don’t think you’re crazy at all!”

Indeed, bees and butterflies are important to agriculture. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, “Three-fourths of the world’s flowering plants and about 35 percent of the world’s food crops depend on animal pollinators to reproduce. That’s one out of every three bites of food you eat.” Let’s be kind to bees and butterflies!

To learn more about pollinators and their importance, click this link: https://www.usda.gov/peoples-garden/pollinators#:~:text=Pollinators%20by%20Numbers&text=More%20than%203%2C500%20species%20of,and%20beetles%20and%20other%20insects

Thank you for supporting Georgia Grown. We’ll see you at the Market.

Thanks,
Beverly

Thank you for choosing Northeast Georgia Locally Grown as a way to support your local producers. This online farmers market allows you to buy directly from multiple farms committed to chemical-free and local produce all year long! CHEMICAL-FREE means produce and pastures grown without synthetic fertilizers, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides. LOCAL means within 80 miles from the market pickup locations (usually much much closer). Do you know someone who grows chemical-free food in the area? Get them in touch with us. Know someone who wants fresh food? Spread the word. Put the two together, and that’s growing organically!

PICKUP TIME is Wednesday from 5-6:30 p.m. in Clayton, Clarkesville, or Gainesville.

If you do not get an email ORDER CONFIRMATION after you finish the checkout process, then your order is NOT complete. Head back to the market page, and your order might still be there waiting for you to check out! If you have any trouble or questions at all, we are here to help; simply reply to this email.

Once you place an order, be on the lookout for the order reminder email on Wednesday with further pickup and payment notes. Thanks for your support!

Martin's Farmstand:  Strawberry Update

The strawberry plants are hanging full of little green berries and flowers. As far as I can judge so far this year is completely normal, they are developing just right, neither early nor late. It is too soon to give exact dates as to when u-pick will start yet, however I estimate that u-pick strawberries should begin in about two weeks from now give or take a bit. (mid June) There is one area where the deer hit hard back in the winter that is missing a lot of plants. The snow cover usually helps protect some from the deer. Most of the patch however is just as pretty as can be. I am anticipating a good crop. I will post closer to time details about hours etc. We are considering if it would be better to eliminate the Monday morning picking and do a Monday evening picking instead. If the patch is thoroughly picked on Saturday and the weather is cool they often are almost not ripe enough to pick again Monday morning and would be much better with a few more hours to ripen. The Wednesday afternoon and Saturday morning picking times will not change. Do any of you have a strong opinion about this one way or the other? Early crops such as scallions, beet greens, lettuce, spinach and salad mix are coming in strong now. The chard should be ready within a week. Snap peas and shell peas will be ready about the last week of June or first of July. Beans, new potatoes, broccoli, cabbage etc. come a week or two after that. Raspberries start just after strawberry season ends. I hope you all are excited to have many good suppers from the bounty that God puts in the fields and gardens of the north Country- I am. Daniel
