Old99Farm Market: OLd 99 Farm Week of Nov 30 2014
This is the week to shout CARROTS CARROTS! Ours are still in the ground, cool and crispy, getting sweeter with the frosty weather. Very tasty for eating fresh but quite fine for cooking too. Prices reduced on orders over 3kg by 20%.
Leeks are ready to be harvested, also still in the ground for flavour development. And in the cold cellar, root crops, squashes and garlic.
As of Nov 30th, we can offer 60+ items including the following crops: mint, beet tops, spinach, beet root (two varieties, Detroit Red and regular), chard, celeriac, carrots, collards, squashes (hubbard, butternut, Sibley, buttercup, spaghetti and delicata) and kale.
Camelia is cooking prepared foods from our produce: garlic pesto, cucumber relish, quiches (on order). Arugula pesto is her latest and it’s a delight, but you can make your own too!
Meats
Beef cuts are now available, a total of about 300 lbs of pastured meats. There are several geese in the freezer. I have 5 lambs in the freezer, still have about 10 chickens as well as veal.
I have listed pork now so that you can order specific cuts and I’ll know how to instruct the butcher: pork coming in December.
Eggs
My current price is $6/XL doz. I sell mixed size dozens that weigh at least 588 gm (medium), 672 grams, the ‘large’ size dozen, and Extra Large, 770gm plus carton. Please bring in recycled cartons.

South Cumberland Food Hub: Time to Order Local Food!
Good Morning from the South Cumberland Food Hub. I trust that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Our family sure did and we enjoyed it even more knowing that some of our food came from our local farmer friends.
The market is back open this week and we still have a great deal to choose from. Crow Mountain Orchard still has apples and they will probably last another couple of weeks or so.
The South Cumberland Food Hub will be open for the first 2 weeks of December and then we will shut down until after the first. We may re open with limited deliveries after that until we resume our full operations in late August. I will keep you all posted as to what we decide to do. Thank you and have a great day!

Martin's Farmstand: December 1
Have you ever wondered what happens during this time of the year on a produce farm? We are not planting, weeding and picking things all the time but rather this season is dominated by mostly maintainance and planning. By the end of the month the seed orders need to be in. In about six weeks it is time to seed tomatoes. We also sleep later in the morning and pay more attention to the childrens school and in general just living. This is a good time of the year for us. I like the long winter evenings. We get to relax a bit and eat the food we have stored away. I will not be writing this webblog every week during the winter however the online market remains open for orders through the winter. Daniel

Princeton Farm Fresh: The Market is Open
Wow, can you believe that it is already December? Where has the year gone? Spring fever is already setting in here at our farm, as I am searching through seed catalogs and planning out the gardens for next year. I spent part of this weekend reading reviews of the best tomatoes of 2014 and making my wish list for 2015 garden.
We will be closed Christmas week and possibly New Years week as we will be taking some time to celebrate with family and getting the market ready for the New Year.
See you on Friday,
Angela
