Joyful Noise Acres Farm:  MILK ONLY

This week the market is open for milk orders only and only until Saturday evening so please order after you finish reading this.

The milk is to be picked up at the Cherokee Market, located at 11611 Cumming Hwy., Canton, GA. Their number is 678-341-8032. The hours are 9-7 daily.

The milk will be in the white coolers when you come in the door from the back of the store where the deck is. Parking is behind the store so it will be easy to come in and out. Leave your empty jars stocked beside the coolers. Please bring them in a box or bag, not loose. Leave them in the box or bag for pick-up. Although I do hope you will bless Lisa with your business, do not pay Cherokee Market for your milk. You will pay for it the following week at our regular market.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Blessings,
Mary Beth

Champaign, OH:  Bring It On Home To Me

Oh, oh, bring it to me…
Bring your sweet loving…
Bring it on home to me…
(Bring It On Home To Me-Sam Cooke)

This song takes me back to carefree, fun filled, classic songs kind of times. When I lived in Los Angeles, a million years ago, my group used to frequent little haunts of clubs out along the beach and roads of Malibu. We loved the little out of the way, long forgotten, old clubs. We could sit with bottles of wine, a round of food, and soulful tunes.

Back then, your market manager was usually broke, living life as a flight attendant, happy to have made networking friendships with club/restaurant owners. I could eat and drink for free, frequent the old, classic places, steep myself in the culture of a by gone time, and feed my soul.

Just like what this little market of love tries to do. We try to build that friendship. That bond. That soul binding relationship between producers, customers, community. We provide an umbrella of shelter, a local outlet of goodness, and a whole lot of love that brings it all home. Bringing you the best of the best in local, bringing you the trust, the nutrition, the friendship.

I open the market, tonight, after yet another AMAZING market pick up!!! We rock and rolled the produce, the greens, the seasonal berries, the goodbye to asparagus, the herbs, locally produced meat, fresh water fish, breads, dairy, cheeses…We have it all. We love it all. Go ahead…bring it to me, bring your sweet lovin’, bring it on home…bring us your orders so we can bring it on home to you!

Peace, Love, Good Vibes…
Cosmic Pam

Fans Needed!

I’m not talking facebook fans but we’ll take those too! :-) Whew! It’s been a hot few days! If you have an extra fan hanging around that you are not using we would love to borrow it for the summer at the warehouse during pickup. It’s been really hot in the warehouse and I’m thinking that a few fans might help circulate the air a bit. If you can help out just drop off your fan at the warehouse any Tuesday. We appreciate it!

CSA Farmers Market:  May 28, 2015 Growing Season Update

Peas are starting to be harvested, the asparagus is done for the year and more lettuce will be available soon. Even though we had a very dry spring the rains are making up for it.

The hay after being cut got rained on for a couple of days, fortunately after those days we had a couple of dry days with a little wind, Once raked the hay it dried enough to put into round bales

The sweet potatoes are planted at White Pine Farm.

CSA Farmers Market:  Growing Season Update June 5

Cabbage planted on Paper at White Pine Farm (taken June 11)

Cucumbers in the hoop house (taken June 11)

The sweet potatoes slips have arrived and we will be planting them Saturday, if any one wants to experience planting sweet potatoes and come visit White Pine Farm on Saturday you can call us at 810-688-3192 to let make arrangements.

Early summer brings in many interesting creatures, we had a blanding turtle visit us and a rather unique spider that I have yet to identify which is still in a jar (I have given it many flies). The blanding turtles are land turtles whose numbers are declining because the raccoons like to eat their eggs. Wish I would have taken a picture of it (I think it was a her because she was digging a hole most likely to burry eggs)

The cucumbers are growing nicely in the hoophouse, this variety of cucumbers has tender seeds and a wonderful flavor. Outside the cabbage is planted in paper, the paper is approved for organic use and degrades over time back into the soil. The paper controls the weeds so we can focus our time on weeding onions and carrots.

Palouse Grown Market:  Healthy, Fresh, Local food with a Passion!

Hey There!

After visiting Palouse Prairie Farms today, I have a new burst of awe and amazement for the hard work and passion behind lots of our local farmers, who use this internal momentum to produce high-quality foods for our Community.

You can find many of those farmers right here, on Palouse Grown Market.
There’s nothing healthier or better than what these farmers produce!

Grass-fed and finished beef, raw milk cheese, naturally grown produce, free-range eggs, fresh-cut flowers, it’s all available in one easy online stop.

Enjoy shopping this week at http://pgm.locallygrown.net/

Thank you!
